Linda Mason, LMBT #612
Linda is a licensed massage therapist working in multiple modalities to bring a holistic approach to her practice. Her primary aim is to provide a safe place for clients to go within, to relax, and to discover the ease and lightness that is their natural state.
She offers Swedish/Relaxation, deep tissue, and Geriatric massage as well as Breast Health massage and lymphatic work. Her education includes study at Cayce Reilly School of Massage in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she was introduced to the work of Therese Phrimmer, a Canadian massage therapist. Realizing the success Phrimmer had with deep tissue massage was a turning point for Linda. "I got really excited about her work," says Mason, who subsequently went on to dedicate her career to massage. In 1990, she graduated from Carolina School of Massage in Carrboro where she also studied modalities of Reflexology, hydrotherapy, Polarity, and more. Linda helps her clients choose which modality works best for them whether dealing with stress, muscle tension or pain, restriction of movement, or balance. Being present in her own body allows her to utilize her skills, knowledge and sensitivity to the benefit of her clients. In fact, this presence, which she feeds through personal interests in meditation, organic gardening, playing music and singing, and community involvement, allows her to help guide clients to a more peaceful, full body state. Linda is known for her sensitive and intuitive ability to communicate with her clients to discern their needs and provide a positive outcome. She has additional training in Gestalt therapy, mediation, and holds a Liberal Arts degree from College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. |
