In 1995 Nicole attended the home birth of her good friend and knew immediately that she needed to be a part of this experience again. She began her career as a massage therapist and doula in California, then went to El Paso to train as a Midwife. After practicing Midwifery for 12 years in California, Nicole returned to her hometown in Massachusetts to attend nursing school and start her own family. Shortly after nursing school, Nicole and her family moved to Chapel Hill where she started work at the Women’s Birth and Wellness Center.
After over 20 years of working with women, Nicole wanted to take what she had learned and provide the community of women in the Triangle support through holistic wellness services. She opened Restoring Balance, providing a beautiful and peaceful environment with holistic practitioners who provide collaborative patient care.
Nicole continues learning from women in her own work and as one of the practitioners at Restoring Balance. She maintains her license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and her certification as a Midwife (CPM). Nicole also continues providing services as a licensed massage therapist (LMBT), specializing pregnancy massage, postpartum massage, massage for mothers in labor, cupping therapy, reflexology, deep abdominal massage, and Kinesio Taping for pregnancy. After years of investigating the different ways women chose to hold onto their placenta, she trained with Full Circle Encapsulation. Nicole also currently offers placenta encapsulation at Restoring Balance.
