 Tara received her Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Acupunture and Oriental Medicine College in Berkeley,  California. During her clinical training she studied extensively under Chinese trained ObGyn and internal medicine specialist Dr. Hua Ling Shu and went on to intern with the S.F Homeless prenatal project, performing community acupuncture for homless or marginally housed pregnant women and their families, treating in both Spanish and English. She also interned at UCSF Benioff Children's hospital working with nurses, doctors and staff and upon graduating worked at  the mixed community and private clinic, Tiny Needles in San Francisco where she would treat up to 100 people a week. 

Tara moved to Durham in 2018 and opened her private practice, Tara Bianca Rado Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine.  She has been practicing bodywork and western herbal medicine since 1995 and began practicing Chinese medicine in 2011.  Tara maintains her Chinese medicine practice inside University Chiropractic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  She offers free sessions for black pregnant and postpartum women on on Mondays and Fridays in Durham. Tara is also a research acupuncture clinician at Duke University as part of a study seeing if its feasible to treat acute musculoskeletal pain in the Emergency Department. 

Tara's Chinese medicine practice including; acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional consults and other modalities. She also offers labor stimulation packages and lactation stimulation packages  that can include visits at both Restoring Balance and her Durham clinic, as well as care for pregnancy-related issues like nausea and vomiting, pain and carpal tunnel syndrome, anemia, hemorrhoids and varicosities, high blood pressure, anxiety, and turning breech babies.
 
Tara is committed to providing exceptional care and support for pregnant women and people so that they may have the safest, healthiest, and most connected birth they can.
  Having started out as a massage therapist in 1995, Tara also worked in a doula-training and natural pregnancy resource center, were she fell in love with the woman centered birth movement, especially the ideas found in Birthing From Within and the Continuum Concept.
